The assignments, readings, and resources in this course have had a definite impact on my self-conception as a technology leader in that I understand how implementation can only happen after evaluation, and that technology can address the needs of all learners, specifically those with accommodations or special needs. I am more proficient in evaluating technology based on my students, content, standards, and cost. I have the skills to design my own flyers based on visual design principles, and have learned how to hand code so that I can troubleshoot when something goes awry. I am also able to understand how to evaluate what is copyrighted, as well as how fair use and creative commons can benefit myself and my students, and how we can or cannot share information. Two of the most important concepts I learned how to use are audio and video. My goals for this program are to become proficient in using technology for instruction and assessment, and being able to implement audio and video within a powerpoint or webquest in order to engage students will help me accomplish that. I am excited to use emerging technologies in my classroom this fall, including implementation of the ISTE standards in support of Visual Art Standards.
